Special Guest Speaker - Hasina Sargeant Johnston
After suffering with health issues, chronic pain stress and anxiety most of her life, Hasina Sargeant-Johnston decided to make a change for the better. She noticed a connection between her mental and physical health. On her journey she found a passion for helping others and for health education: "the more we know the more we can make informed decisions."
Hasina is a volunteer community educator and was the fortunate person to be selected for a life-changing trip to Sri Lanka, sponsored by Stellario Realty Group and Logan Women's Health and Wellbeing Centre. On this solo, 3 week journey, Hasina left her role of mother and wife behind and truly found herself. She was confronted with harsh realities, poverty, lack of work, lack of shelter and lack of opportunities.
Hasina volunteered in villages and delivered food parcels to people with no means for their next meal, however she found these villagers the most happiest, content and grateful people she has ever met! Hasina came back with a different perspective, grateful, no anxiety, less pain and no fear.
Hasina will be speaking about her journey and how 3 weeks has changed her life forever.
