Elizabeth Fairon - Life Law Solutions - Wills and Estates
Elizabeth Fairon is the owner and principal lawyer of Life Law Solutions. She leads the firm's practice groups in all areas of Family Law, Wills & Estate Planning, and Deceased Estate Administration, and Property and Conveyancing. Elizabeth encourages the entire Life Law Solutions team to deliver "solution focussed" advice to their clients, with a particular focus on ensuring difficulties can be resolved without court intervention.
Elizabeth graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws in 2004, and her first Masters of Laws in 2009. She completed the Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) through the College of Law in 2014. Elizabeth is also a registered Trusts and Estate Practitioner with STEP – Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, and an active member of the Queensland Law Society, Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland, Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network, Southside Chamber of Commerce and Sunshine Coast Law Association.
Elizabeth works with her clients in Wills & Estate Planning to achieve a holistic strategy. She incorporates her knowledge of family law, succession law, and property law, as well as reaching out to her network of allied professionals to provide accurate and essential advice for tax planning, financial planning and accounting advice.
A well-developed estate plan will incorporate your family needs, business succession planning, superannuation and tax structuring and a clearly defined goal (whether that is tax minimisation, ensuring there is someone to take over the business, or making sure you keep family heirlooms in the family). In the 21 st century, no two families are identical, and it's important you get the right advice for your situation. Elizabeth believes an estate plan isn't about what you leave behind, it's about who you leave behind.
Elizabeth aims to educate and empower her clients through her advice, so they can identify situations where they need to take on legal advice, and situations where they can be confident in their own abilities. Some of the questions/comments Elizabeth hears on a regular basis are below (she'll talk a little about each of them at the breakfast):
1. "If I die and I don't have a will, my spouse will get everything…"
2. "I don't have a Power of Attorney document because I trust my spouse to make the right decisions for me…"
3. "My spouse and I own the property together so when I die they will just get my share, I don't need a Will…"
4. "I've already got a Will… that'll deal with my superannuation won't it?"
Life Law Solutions regularly hosts complimentary workshops about each of their areas of practice, check out www.lifelaw.com.au for information about our next workshop's details.
Peter Williams - Peter G Williams and Associates - Conveyancing
Peter G. Williams & Associates Solicitors & Notary (PGW Solicitors) is a full service law firm operating in Upper Mt Gravatt. The firm was established in 1992 in Upper Mt Gravatt by its principal, Peter Williams, a former Committee member of the Southside Chamber. Since then, Peter has assisted thousands of small business, corporate and individual clients in a wide range of legal matters, particularly focusing on property law (including Commercial Leases, Retirement Village Residential Occupancy Agreements and Conveyancing) , Wills and Deceased Estates, (including inheritance disputes), family law and commercial law.
Peter has had personal experience in undertaking conveyancing of both urban and rural properties (some with water or grazing licences), in respect of investment and residential properties and regarding Contracts containing Building Covenants and restrictive covenants.
Peter understands that the purchase of a residential property, whether it be a dwelling house, a townhouse or building unit, is for many clients probably their biggest investment. Peter also understands that moving residence can be a stressful time. We take care of all the usual steps of completing the Conveyance on behalf of our clients with the aim of ensuring the transaction proceeds seamlessly, on time and only after all appropriate governmental searches and due diligence enquiries have been completed, and all Transfer duties have been paid. We also personally attend settlement and ensure that if the Buyer has no financier that stamped Transfer documents are promptly lodged by us in the Titles Office to complete the transfer of freehold title into the Buyer’s name.
The fact that our friendly qualified lawyer, rather than a paralegal or law clerk is responsible for your file during all stages of the Conveyance, encouraging our clients to consult our solicitor BEFORE the Contract is signed, and having our solicitor draw special conditions in variation of a Standard REIQ Contract to protect the client’s rights, and offering to peruse and advise clients in respect of their Loan and Mortgage documents, all at no extra cost, are what sets PGW Solicitors apart from many of our competitors.
We also can provide fixed fee and obligation free conveyancing Quotes on request. Peter is happy to answer all your questions on conveyancing.
